5 Best Places to Visit on New Year in Dubai

When its about New Year in Dubai, the first thing that comes in the mind is fireworks. And since majority of the people visiting Dubai in December want to be at the right place when the clock hits 12, this is a very common question that they usually ask, where should we go? Here are the 5 places I would suggest, depending on your budget and how much crowd you can handle.

New Year in Dubai

  1. Burj Khalifa

I have been there with my family on New Year to watch the Burj Khalifa. We didn’t buy Burj Khalifa new year ticket, instead we wanted to enjoy the real feel of New Year celebration at the Burj Khalifa street. I along with my wife and 2 kids went there specially to watch the Burj Khalifa fireworks from the closest possible distance. I never thought that the countdown of New Year will be so beautiful.

Watching the Burj Khalifa building from the street was a next level of experience. We know that its the tallest building but watching it in front of the eyes was another experience that can’t be expressed. It was full of crowds and the best part was, we took metro to reach the destination. It was totally worth it. My suggestion is to reach early in the evening, because roads around Downtown get closed and the good spots fill up hours before midnight.

  1. Desert Safari Camp

We went for an overnight desert safari just a day before the fireworks. We didn’t go on the New Year, but one can obviously go for new year Desert Safari trip if someone doesn’t like overcrowded places. The best part about the desert safari camp is that only limited number of people will be there with fixed price.

The service was offered at the desk for the VIP, otherwise for general users, BBQ buffet dinner is available. This place is perfect for couples and families who don’t want to face crowd and waste time in the traffic. Just keep in mind that New Year’s Eve packages are limited, so better to book early.

  1. Palm Jumeirah

I have not personally experienced New Year’s Eve on Palm Jumeirah, but I think its one of the best places to celebrate in Dubai. The luxury hotels make it feel more exclusive than the typical Downtown area.

One thing that I would like to mention that its on the expensive side, especially for hotel parties and beach clubs. If someone would like to spend New Year on Palm Jumeirah then make sure to reach by evening, otherwise you may face huge traffic. My recommendation is, if you want to have a clear view of Atlantis fireworks then going Palm Jumeirah is a worthful.

  1. Dubai Marina

I have not personally experienced New Year’s Eve at Dubai Marina, but one thing I can tell you that it is one of the best combinations of sightseeing and celebrations. A dhow cruise dinner is particularly appealing because with little amount you can not only enjoy dinner, but also get a full package that includes entertainment and fireworks view.

My tip would be to book your cruise at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance before the 31st December. And choose the private or sharing transfer so that you won’t have to worry about the transportation. The organizer will take care of the transportation.

  1. JBR Beach

Same thing is applicable here, I have not been here personally on New Year, but I think its a great option for people who want to enjoy Dubai’s celebrations without spending too much. The beach is long enough to walk with family and friends and offers an uninterrupted view of the Ain Dubai.

If you want to have a more relaxed and budget friendly celebration then this is the place. If you don’t want to spend too much and avoid booking hassle then this place is best for you.
